Our Instructors

Jesse Yip

Jesse is constantly expanding his various teaching skills, emphasizing mainly on leading techniques and originality in salsa and bachata. His dance journey began in 2001 under the instruction of Caribbean Soul's Ismael Otero and Yesenia Peralta. He creates his own turn patterns, and mixes them in ways unthought-of. Since then he has made a mark in the dance scene creating Signatura Dance Company in 2006, and opening up Step Up Dance Studio in 2015.

Aleksandra Kawecka

Aleksandra is a seasoned salsa and bachata instructor and performer. She started ballroom dancing at the age of 9 in Poland, performing and competing in all dance styles. She is results oriented and dedicated to achieving the highest possible standards across all curriculum key stages alongside her partner, Jesse Yip. Above all, she believes that dance should be fun and accessible to all and her patient and encouraging teaching style ensures that every student feels empowered.

Benji Rodriguez

Benjamin was born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ. In 2005, he started training capoeira with Mestre Bayano Nacao Capoeira and now is known as Caoba Capoeira. In 2017 Mosquito earned the rank of Formado. He has taught, performed, and competed in break dance, salsa on 2 and capoeira. Benji tailors his classes to suit all skill levels, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. He seamlessly blends athleticism, musicality and cultural richness.

Ricky aka Rick tha Rula breakdancing instructor

With over 20 years of experience in Breakin, Coach Ricky aka Rick tha Rula provides the atmosphere and training that will nurture both the potential fitness member and the dance student. He values individual growth and artistic expression and guides students in discovering their own unique style and voice within their dance form. Join his classes to explore the energy, creativity, and culture that define breakdancing, one move at a time. His classes are a thrilling and empowering experience.
